Directions: Driving Directions: From intersection of US Hwy 21 Business and NC Hwy 21 north of Elkin, take NC Hwy 21 North toward State Road or Sparta and follow for 2.3 miles to Wolfe Brothers Furniture (on the LH side of road). Just past the business on LH side is a paved entrance to a residence that is about 200 yards from highway. There is only one burial here and it sits SW of the residence toward an old barn approximately 75 yards from house.

This location was the original or first church meeting place that eventually became Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. The old church-school-store is still in pretty good condition and at present is the storage building and shop of a building contractor. Occupant: There appears to be only one person buried here and he was David R. Cockerham (b. 03-01-1821, d. 11-??-1863. The marker is broken laid back on the base and is hard to read..
