Surveyed by Bob Carter on May 8, 2008. Parcel ID: 5933-00-56-3879. Township or district: Siloam. Public or Private: Private property. GPS Accuracy (ft.): 39. Elevation above sea level (ft.): 954. Status of cemetery: Abandoned.
About 8-10 marked graves with only field stones or river slate as markers. Very overgrown and would miss them if you didn't know they were there. Reportedly the burial place of some of the oldest WHITAKER settlers in Surry.
Possible burials here are William Whitaker and brother Jonathan Whitaker. They received land grants for about 400 acres along Hogans Creek about early 1800s.
