      Directions: From intersection of US Hwy 52 and NC Hwy 268 in Pilot Mtn, go south on US Hwy 52 for 5 miles and take the Pinnacle exit. At stop sign, turn right on Perch road and go 1.45 miles. Then turn right on Stony Ridge Rd and go 2.8 miles until it dead ends into Shoals Rd. Then turn left on Shoals Rd and go 2.3 miles to Shoals Baptist Church on the right. Parking is at the church and cemeteries are to the North and South of the church on the same side of the road.

      This was a full and complete survey of burials as found on September 25, 2009 and is in two parts, a lower level (South) below the church which have some of the oldest graves, and an upper portion (North) above the church. The survey started at the back of the cemetery and worked toward Shoals Road in front of the church. This section has many unknown graves with most of them marked with separate concrete pads. The North survey started with the grave nearest to the road and the power pole and worked toward the woods (west). This church has a genuine respect for their ancestors by keeping the cemetery very clean and well maintained.

      The Notes section was to provide names of parents or spouses, if they could be obtained from death, marriage, or obituary records but in some cases they were unavailable. Actual names are shown where the markers had just the initials; day and month of birth or death are shown where only the year was given. Some burials were not found, but have been provided based on death record. As with any research, if you notice factual errors please send an email to us for a correction.
